My Last Lecture

When I begun this course , I felt a little bit overwhelmed and not enjoying it , because I wasn't paying the attention I should have had.  I even thought that entrepreneurship  wasn't for me but later on , after seeing my grades , I decided that I need it to do it better and I started to enjoy the class . This class not just only gave me important information about the entrepreneur life , but spiritual meaning to my life.

During this process of learning in this semester I learned and understand that every person is different and every person will have their own experiences in the business life ,in some of the videos it kept reminded us that this takes time and a lot of patience . Even one of the videos tell us that if we are single and are starting up a business , to be single for a while ,because it will take a lot of time and a lot of extra time of personal life, its not like "be out of office at 6 pm". We have to make sure everything is clear before we can return home, success will come eventually, and it seems really fun , because of the freedom , as I always said to my kids and I think this apply to this too " with great power comes great responsibilities" (actually took it from the Spiderman movie).We must be very organized with our time and plan ahead so we don't miss the family time , this is really important , and that was and still is one of my weakness.

I loved the video of the founder of "Dominos" in which tells us how we need to let go our pride and I think that is one of the most difficult part of being a successful business person.

In general , I loved this course and I thanked the instructor for taking the time to choose the correct videos , lectures and information .

WEEK 13: A JOURNEY OFF GRATITUDE

I was very touched with the talk of President Monson , this is the second time I listened and read it , and it had the same effect as the first time . I loved how he mentioned  first to show gratitude to Our Mothers and then Fathers, Teachers, Friends and our beloved Heavenly Father . This made me realize how grateful we need to be in life , and how sometimes we forget to show it , I always say to my children to be grateful to have another day of life and how to be grateful in many ways . In one of the videos, it tell us also the importance in having a job we like instead of having one that we resent , I understand that work is work and not everything is going to be easy , but in order to be successful we need to find something we really like . As always I really enjoyed all the reading , videos , lectures , talks , it just doesn't give me important information and educational information but spiritual meaning to my life.

WEEK 12 : BECOMING A CHANGEMAKER

This week was very inspirational as always , I loved the article of Muhammad Yunus , about the economics and the impact that he made in that village. I liked how he sees and explains economics in real life as he call it , since poor people doesn't know or follow directions from any textbooks , these don't apply to real life economics. Loved the idea of how he created his own bank to poor people , this shows the big person he is , and how those people were able to pay back  the money was lent. I really had  a great time watching the video of Larry Brilliant it gave a great lesson on not be pessimist , gave me a great lesson in how to be thankful for whatever we have and to live in this era and in this place, I really loved his speech. I sure had a great time reading and watching the material given .

WEEK 11 : MEASURING THE COST: LIFE BALANCE

This week was really awesome , I liked the readings and the videos . What mostly got me to think was the two mini cases we had to read, their were short but it made me realized on how need to balance our family and being an entrepreneur and how hard can be sometimes to make choices without taking away the family time , which is very important to me  . I also enjoyed watching the video of Meg Cadoux "Surviving the Entrepreneur life : Work and family " . In general this week was a lot from learning and to meditate how to act when and if I face those challenges .

Week 10 : Dream big Dreams

I remember when I was a kid , I used to have the dream to have my own business and have many adjacent places and basically be a successful entrepeneaour. I learned this week with the information ,videos and lectures that we can never stop dreaming. I loved the video of Taylor Richards owner of a boat company in which the first years year made up to the 11th place on the best and second year the 6th place and that gave me a great example on how we have to believe on ourselves and do things the right way because that is going to eventually pay off. I also liked the video "License to Dream "by Marissa Meyer and now I get it why Goggle is such a great emporium and awesome place to work. It was a great week and I loved it .

Journal week 09

Disciple Leadership

I really enjoyed the reading and  videos  assigned of this week, specially since I already have read some of them before in my religious class two semesters ago, it brought me back in time, gave me good memories and refreshed my memory by reading some of the essay I made by that time. The article (message to Garcia) taught us  that we have to be obedient without asking questions .As always I loved the Guy Kawasaki video is which he talks about trusting and the aspects about building it , he is kinda of a good visionary in business, and one think that left me thinking and loved it was that usually people do not ask for unreasonable things and those that are we just do not have to worry about to try enchanting them, this is very wise. In general this video of him tell us that we have to trust in people , because if we do they will do it too. Good to Great by Jim Collins was the book I read last semester and it really taught me to not just be good in whatever we do in life but to try hard and be great, in term of business like the speaker said : good is the enemy of great , this means like AI said before let us not just be good , let our business be great .Another chapter talks about to get rid of people who does not contribute any good to you or your business , and this makes totally sense in any aspect of life. Another  factor to become a great company is to have or create a great product , we have to believe we are the best that means to be confident on what we are offering , and last to have passion on what we are doing or offering as a product . I really , really enjoyed this week materials and felt like I really learned a lot .

Entrepreneurial Journey : Week 08

 OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

This week as the other weeks I have learned a lot and the videos that are assigned not only help me reach my goals on the academic side but the spiritual side . I loved the video of Elder Holland , and felt really inspired on never quit, no matter what it takes , no matter if we feel that problems come over and over again. I sure have some difficulties facing my challenges because is hard to find a balance between school , work , being a single mom and household chores , but I have faith that my Heavenly father will provide me and give the strength I need to reach my goals and face my challenges. I really enjoyed watching the " the 5 why's", I think everybody and every company should apply this , is very beneficial. I found the Entrppenaur interview assingment very interesting.
